Aoy is a passionate food and yoga lover who fully commits herself to every task at hand especially when it comes to preparing authentic and beautifully presented Thai dishes. Aoy lived abroad for 10 years and now works in the restaurant and tourism industry. Since returning to Thailand, she has dedicated herself to Thai food, opening a restaurant in her childhood home and teach cooking to travelers. Aoy lives on a lush, beautiful property on the banks of the Tha Chin River and uses fresh herbs and produce grown in the local community in her cooking. Join Aoy for an authentic Thai experience in her home restaurant. If you book a meal only experience, you will enjoy mouthwatering Thai dishes like muu phad grachhay (fried pork marinated in herbs and topped with fried finger root), gang phed ped yang (red curry with roasted duck, pineapple, pumpkin and sweet basil), or pad Thai with shrimp. If you book a cooking experience, you can expect to learn to create from scratch two of Aoy's favorite dishes in a hands-on cooking class. Your cooking will either be done in Aoy's studio kitchen that is also used by her other cooks for the restaurant, or in Aoy's quaint, outdoor garden kitchen that she runs from her home. You can also book an optional market tour add-on which we highly recommend. Aoy will take you a true local's market outside the bustle of Bangkok, nestled on the banks of the Tha Chin river. Aoy will introduce you to some of the local vendors, regional produce and tasty local snacks before you board her boat and enjoy a scenic boat ride down the river to her waterfront home and restaurant. Note that Aoy's home is in the Nakhon Sathom Province and is a wonderful stop en route back from the Damnoen Saduak floating market into the city. Also please note that on days that Aoy is traveling, her master chef will host you. Her chef has worked for years behind the scenes of some of the best food establishments in town and will pass on some of her culinary expertise as guests learn what goes into the making mouthwatering dishes, from how to slice lemongrass to figuring the perfect number of chilies to throw into the spiciest of dishes. Also, please note that the cost of the experience includes pickup at the Bang Wa BTS station, a train station at the end of the Silom Line. If you are interested in transportation from central Bangkok this can be arranged for an additional cost.
Bangkok is chief port capital of Thailand and one of the most important cities in Southeast Asia. It is the epitome of the country's kaleidoscopic blend of old and new. It is an expression of Thai respect for tradition coupled with their vibrant involvement with modern progress. Rama I built the walled Grand Palace, which contains Temple of the Emerald Buddha. During the 19th century, Bangkok was known as the Venice of the East because of its many canals, which served as streets and commercial thoroughfares. Houses perched along the banks of the remaining canals are still common sight. Some of Bangkok’s most distinctive features are the approximately 400 Buddhist temples, known as wats. Bangkok is Thailand's economic center. Other sights to see include Temples, monuments, museums, Vimarnmekh Mansion, and Jim Thompson’s House.
